Football Bet Types Explained

1X2 (Match Result)

Bet on the outcome: 1 = home team wins, X = draw, 2 = away team wins. The most popular market in Africa.

Example: Nigeria 1 = 2.10 odds

Over/Under Goals

Bet on the total goals scored. Over 2.5 means 3+ goals must be scored. Under 2.5 means 2 or fewer goals.

Example: Over 2.5 goals = 1.85

BTTS (Both Teams to Score)

Bet on whether both teams will score at least once. BTTS Yes = both score. BTTS No = at least one team kept clean.

Example: BTTS Yes = 1.75

Double Chance

Cover two of three outcomes. 1X = home wins or draw. X2 = draw or away wins. 12 = either team wins (no draw).

Example: 1X (home/draw) = 1.40

Accumulator (ACCA)

Combine 3+ selections across multiple matches. All must win. Higher odds but all need to be correct.

Example: 5-fold ACCA = 35.00

Correct Score

Bet on the exact final score. High odds — very difficult to predict but rewarding when correct.

Example: 2-1 = 8.50 odds

How to Read Betting Odds

All African bookmakers use decimal odds. This shows your total return per unit staked.

💡 Formula: Potential Return = Stake × Odds  |  Profit = (Stake × Odds) − Stake

1X2 (Match Result) = bet on who wins or if it's a draw. BTTS (Both Teams to Score) = bet on whether both teams score at least one goal — regardless of who wins. BTTS Yes pays out if the final score is 1-1, 2-1, 1-2, 2-2, 3-1, etc.

Sports betting is legal and regulated in most African countries. Only bet at licensed bookmakers — SifuFinds only lists operators licensed by the NLRC (Nigeria), BCLB (Kenya), GCA (Ghana), WCGRB/NGB (South Africa) and other national regulators. Always bet with money you can afford to lose.
